This hands-on, 20 hour class will cover basic fly fishing skills including casting, equipment, fly identification, knots, presentation, and etiquette. Eight hours of class time broken down into two hour increments starting August 21, 23, 28, & 30 plus two days of fishing (September 8 & 9 from 9am-3pm) will familiarize students with all aspects of trout fishing in Carbon County. Students must be able to negotiate slippery river rocks, see to tie knots, and enjoy being outdoors.
Class requirements for fishing days on September 8th & 9th: Fishing license, fly rod, leaders, flies, fly floatant, chest waders, sunscreen, raingear, brimmed hat, food and water. Students are responsible for aquiring these items, they are not included in the cost of the class.
